I am a regular person just like everyone else. I believe most people would like to have the desires of thier heart fulfilled. Wouldn't you like to have more joy, peace, and happiness in your life?
When I first watched the movie, The Secret, I realized that it was pretty much a summation of everything I already believed. I wondered why more people did not believe it, too.
I believe the answer to that question lies inside each one of us -- it has to do with our belief system, our worldview.
We have been taught since a very young age that:

Money doesn't grow on trees.

You have to work hard to get ahead in this life.

Life is not easy.

Get your head out of the clouds and get busy making a living.

Money is the root of all evil.
We fail to stop and examine these beliefs. We fail to test them to make sure they are our own ideas. Money is not the root of all evil. It is the love of money that is the root of all evil. Or is it?
When we understand that money is nothing more than energy, just as light, sound, earth, God, you, me, and everything every where -- then we can begin to appreciate that just as we use energy to
accomplish some kind of labor, we can also use the energy of money to bless the lives of our loved ones and family, friends, etc.
