"The FDA of the United States considers hemp oil (and it's derivative CBD) to be a dietary supplement (not a medication), since they are made from industrial hemp plants. If you live in the US, this means you don't need a prescription and can legally purchase and consume Cannabidiol in any state" however, it is currently not available in every state. This needs to change. Here, in NC, adults can purchase a CBD oil vape pen at a convenience store or gas station. It should be that easy to purchase everywhere. Sadly, most people must order their CBD oil online.

Forty years ago, heck, even twenty years ago, I believed the lies I was told about marijuana. The deception has been around much longer than imagined. Whether some kind of conspiracy or fear, I don't know. I do know that these lies keep millions of Americans and citizens worldwide from the heath benefits available to them through the proper application and use of a natural plant remedy known as medical cannabis. So rather than pooh-pooh the medicinal benefits of cannabis, get informed and make your own decisions. Don't believe the lies we've been told any longer.
The Cannabis plant grows wild and should be free to use. For many, it is an answer to prayer. When nothing else in modern medicine either relieves or cures, this plant has become the go-to. Marijuana provides many needed health benefits. It wasn't long ago that I was among those in the dark. Even now, I risk my reputation and put my neck on the chopping block to help spread the word and truth. When I was introduced to CBD oil, I found immediate relief from eye pressure caused by an eye disorder, Macular Degeneration. Sometimes, the pressure was so great, I felt like someone was stabbing an icepick into my left eye. It hurt! Within only a few minutes after using/inhaling from a CBD oil vape pen, the pressure relieved and a clear liquid ran out the corners of my eyes. It was amazing and the the pain relief was even better. That wasn't the only benefit. As an author, I sit at my computer for long periods of time -- hands out on the keyboard, shoulders tense, neck sometimes strained before I adjust my position. Those constant aches and pains (the ones I thought I had to live with) are only a distant memory now. Gone, kaput, finito! Thank goodness! I won't give up my CBD oil vape pen!
CBD oil doesn't contain THC. I'm going to call THC "the high component" even though I know that is not what it really stands for. THC is the primary ingredient in marijuana that gets a person high. CBD Oil is extracted from the Marijuana plant. Both cannabis and CBD oil have very similar medical benefits, but CBD oil doesn't have the psychoactive ingredient of THC (the high component). I'm not suggesting that anything is wrong with THC. I am advocating a choice.
It is my belief that Cannabis should be legalized everywhere so that people who need it can use it. Let's put the peoples' needs first and the huge business of illegal use to rest.
What are the lies we're told about Marijuana/Cannabis?
  1. Pot is addictive -- Pot is habit-forming, not addictive. When we like something, we tend to use it more often, and that might cause a habit. Still, cannabis is not nearly as addictive as alcohol and nicotine or cocaine
  2. Stoned people cause car crashes -- reality, alcohol consumption causes more impairment and accidents because alcohol-inebriated drivers take more chances and drive faster than their impairment can handle. Have you ever seen someone drive after they've smoked a joint? Slow and thoughtful, slow and thoughtful.
  3. Marijuana kills brain cells -- marijuana is used by a broad spectrum of professionals and nonprofessionals alike. Apparently, it doesn't affect their success or lack of success. It doesn't appear to affect their motivation. Doctors, lawyers and other professionals maintain their skills whether or not they use the plant.
  4. The gateway effect -- that one scared me the most. With an awareness of my addictive personality (coffee, tea, chocolate), I feared I might be susceptible to opening the doorway to some kind of deeper addiction (drugs). I didn't want to take a chance so I avoided the possibility.
  5. Pot makes you stupid -- I think some of the funniest movies (Pineapple Express, The Big Lebowski, Up in Smoke, Half-Baked, etc.) propagated that myth because they were comedies and meant to show the funny-stupid side of pot.

Medical Benefits of Marijuana
"Cannabis is a medicinal plant with dozens of peer-reviewed studies demonstrating its many uses. It is non-toxic, non-addictive, and works when all other medicines fail. Cannabis may be ingested via pills, ointments, tinctures, edible foods, and via vaporization or smoking.

Patients suffering with HIV/AIDS, glaucoma, cancer and chemotherapy, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and other illnesses find that cannabis relieves their symptoms—sometimes when nothing else will.

Cannabis’s medical applications include:

  • Relief from nausea & appetite loss
  • Reduction of intraocular pressure
  • Reduction of muscle spasms
  • Relief from chronic pain"

This is why I signed the petition -- Legalizing medical marijuana at the federal level would end the question of state vs. federal. It would end raids on the dispensaries. It would allow people on Social Security Disability to have a card without fear of losing benefits.

That's why I signed a petition to The United States Senate, which says:

"Legalizing medical marijuana at the federal level would end the question of state vs. federal law. It would end raids on the dispensaries. It would allow people on Social Security Disability to have a card without fear of losing benefits. It could create jobs and generate revenue."
